What is CBD?

CBD  is a natural compound found in the cannabis plant. Unlike its psychoactive counterpart, THC, CBD does not produce a “high.” It has gained attention for its potential therapeutic properties, including anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anxiolytic effects. CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, a complex network of receptors involved in regulating various physiological processes. Is CBD the same as THC?

CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are two distinct compounds found in the cannabis plant. While they belong to the same family of compounds called cannabinoids, they have different effects on the body. THC is psychoactive and produces the “high” associated with marijuana use, whereas CBD is non-psychoactive and does not induce intoxication. Both CBD and THC have potential therapeutic properties but act on different receptors in the endocannabinoid system, leading to different effects.  Check out the finer details in the CBD VS. THC study.

CBD for Pets

Can I give CBD to my pet?

CBD has gained popularity as a potential wellness supplement for pets. Some pet owners report that CBD products have helped alleviate anxiety, pain, and inflammation in their animals. CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system in pets, just like in humans, which may contribute to its effects. However, it’s crucial to use CBD products specifically formulated for pets, as the dosage and ingredients may differ from those for humans. Before giving your pet CBD, consult with a veterinarian to ensure it is safe and appropriate for their health needs.
